I wanted to give a quick thank you to everyone one more time before I withdraw into the deep bowels of the alumni. I have had an absolute blast with Kappa Kappa Psi over the past several years and will continue to stay involved as much as I need to. District and National Conventions, as well as our own chapter meetings, have always brought to light new and exciting things. Despite the drama that always occurs, we have continued to grow as a chapter and my hope is that AO will continue to grow in the future. I want to wish the incoming officers the best of luck. Know that any of us that are leaving are more that willing to give advice or listen to you rant.
In terms of this website and our Facebook fan page, I intend on staying on to help maintain the design and structure for as long as necessary, but will be turning over the content control to AO's Corresponding Secretary, Robbie Duran. This chapter has some exciting events and plans in store for the upcoming year and I can't wait for you to hear about them.
As always, if you have any questions, comments, concerns, feel free to contact me.

The Alpha Omicron chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi and the Beta chapter of Tau Beta Sigma, would like to thank everyone who attended the West Texas / New Mexico History and Traditions Workshop on Saturday, March 27th. We would also like to thank our gracious speakers, Amanda Dickson, Phil Weinert, Nick Smith, Cyndy Porter, and Keith Bearden, for presenting their knowledge of KKPsi/TBSigma and for providing stories and advice for past, present, and future actives of the various chapters in how best to serve your organizations.
It was also during this workshop that Alpha Omicron announced their bid to host and maintain the New ALTO district publication for the 2010-2011 school year. More information on this bid will become available as we get closer to this year's district convention.

Near the beginning of the semester, the Alpha Omicron chapter accepted the responsibility of becoming the advising chapter for a brand new Kappa Kappa Psi colony. The colony is located at McMurry University in Abilene, Texas. They are a small, private liberal arts university that prides itself on its United Methodist tradition. This group of guys and girls have been working hard to get the Colonization process started up and Alpha Omicron is happy work with these colonists throughout the entire process.
Brother Kurtis Gonzales has accepted the role as the primary contact between our two organizations and will be working closely with the colonists in order to bring them to chapter status as soon as possible.
You can check out their website, developed by Nicole Sonneveld - colony Historian, at http://mcmkkpsi.weebly.com and I highly encourage you to leave comments of support as they progress through the colonization process. |
