Celebrating 71 Years of Service!

To all Brothers, Active, Alumni, and Honorary,

On Thursday, March 12, 2009, the Alpha Omicron Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi celebrated its 71st anniversary of the installation of its charter. The Brothers of AO are extremely proud and very excited to have reached this milestone in our chapter’s history.

Since the very first day that Texas Tech University opened its doors to students, it has had a band program. For more than 80 years, the Texas Tech Band has provided a source of personal and artistic expression for students. Thousands of Tech students can proudly say that they’ve been a member of one of the finest and most prestigious collegiate band programs in the country. For 71 of those years, Kappa Kappa Psi has been there to lead and serve the band from their first years as a small group of musicians to the nationally recognized program it is today.

Since those humble beginnings, Kappa Kappa Psi at Texas Tech has continued to strive for the highest level of achievement in support of our band. Since the time of “Prof” Wiley, Alpha Omicron has continued to grow and, its membership is filled with students, past and present, who demonstrate outstanding dedication and devotion to music. We are very pleased to continue excellent service for our bands. The support of our faculty and staff has greatly enhanced our call to service and our drive to success. The support and confidence of our sponsors, our alumni, our honorary members, and our active members is what ultimately keeps the flame of our Founding Fathers alive.

Congratulations Alpha Omicron,
on 71 amazing years of service for the Tech Band
